A Peace of Mind With Owlet

Thursday, August 30, 2018

In just six days we will have a five month old baby girl. Time is such a thief. It seems like yesterday we were bringing her home from the hospital. As a third time mom I just want to say that things never get better when it comes to worrying about your babies. I know I'm not alone! I can't tell you how many times a night I go into the rooms of our children, put my hand on their chest and give them  a hundred and five kisses. I've caught Barrett doing this plenty of times too.

Before bed every night I do the nightly routine of checking on babies, setting the house alarm and adjusting the thermostat. Every night I get in bed and ask, "Do you think it's too cold in here?" (This drives Barrett insane!)

We have been using our Owlet Smart Sock for two weeks now. I wish I would have gotten one sooner but I am so thankful we got one when we did. We decided to move AP to her nursery A few weeks ago. Every time Barrett or myself would get up in the middle of the night it would wake her up. She has been sleeping through the night for so long  now. I can't remember exactly when she started but I do remember that we went on a beach trip when she was  eight weeks old. She was sleeping around ten hours at that time.

With our other children in school full time I know they will be bringing home tons of germs that the baby will be exposed to. When she was two weeks old she caught a terrible cold and I didn't sleep a wink the entire time she had it! On top of that we have to deal with terrible reflux. So when we decided to move her to her own room I knew I wanted to be able to relax and sleep without worrying all night that she was ok.

With Owlet Smart Sock I'm able to have a peace of mind when it comes to her sleeping alone. The smart sock

"Tracks heart rate,
oxygen levels and sleep."

"Notifies you if levels fall outside of preset ranges."

Reasons why it's never too late to use Owlet.
  • It makes sleep easier in those early months- We didn't get ours until four months with our fourth child but better late than never! If I could go back I would have it the day we came home from the hospital.
  • The transition to the nursery is easier on mom and dad- Thankfully our master bedroom is connected to the nursery so she is still close. But having the reassurance that she is sleeping soundly in the next room makes Barrett and I get a good nights sleep.
  • If something ever were to happen you could take action immediate.
All parent's should be able to rest easy knowing their  baby is ok. If you are a new mom or an expecting mom I would suggest putting one on your baby's registry.
