Starting Your Journey to a Non-Toxic Lifestyle

I just want to start off by saying that our family has been on our non-toxic journey for about three years now. Are we perfect? NO. Not at all. Our journey first started with essential oils when my sister-in-law introduced us to DoTERRA. I had heard about oils but what clueless about them. She sent us a starter kit when Hayes was born and I was a little overwhelmed but thankfully she was there to answer all of my questions. I still text her at least three times a week with questions! "Can
I use this on the baby? How much should I dilute this? Can I take these internally while breastfeeding?" I probably drive her crazy.

After we started getting familiar with oils and using them daily it got me wondering. "What about all of this stuff we are putting  on our skin?" So after a while I started switching out our body wash, hand soap and toothpaste. Instead of grabbing those things from the store I would just out it in my monthly DoTERRA order. To be honest this made my life a lot easier too. I don't really like going to the store for anything. Hello online shopping and Kroger Clicklist!

Baby steps. That's the best way to describe it. You have to start small. If you go into it thinking you need to throw everything in your home away and start over, it will drive you crazy. I'm attaching a list  below of some fun/easy ways to start your non-toxic journey!

Now, on to the real purpose of this blog post. After being introduced to DoTERRA I started hearing about Beautycounter. So the next thing I started doing was changing out more products in our home. Shampoo, lotion, and makeup.

Which brings me to my announcement. After years of using the products and loving them I have decided to join the movement. I started thinking a few weeks ago about this platform I have. Why am I not sharing more of the things I am passionate about to educate people?

Two weeks ago before I even thought about joining a huge opportunity came up. I got the chance to WORK with Beautycounter on an instagram campaign. I was thrilled. I'm always so excited to share the things I truly love with all of you. After I worked on the campaign a couple of days later I had an Instagram notification pop up. I had a like, comment and a follow from Beautycounter. Then and there I made my decision. I have this place where I can share things with other women like myself. It's time to share what truly matters. Making sure we are all doing the best for our families. #knowbetterdobetter

If you are ready to start your journey to a non-toxic lifestyle I would love to chat. Some of my most precious friends right now are women I have connected with over social media about our non-toxic lifestyles. Be cautious about what you are putting in and on your body. I personally know two people dealing with certain issues at the moment. It's a HUGE wakeup call. So if you are wondering how to get started keep reading.

- Like I said earlier, baby steps. Start with changing out your personal items. Toothpaste, body wash and hand soap.

-Next change out your household cleaners. Seriously throw away ALL of those cleaners you bought from Target. We have ONE single cleaner that we use everyday. You can get it plus read more  HERE.

-Makeup and skincare-

After you do those major things it will start coming naturally.

I would love to talk to you about ditching all of your toxins.
I'm excited to share more of the things that I love on the blog and that I'm seriously passionate about. Which is healthy living, fashion and motherhood!

I am starting my gluten and dairy free lifestyle this week (mainly for breastfeeding reasons)
I like to think of myself as a "Kourtney Kardashian and Kristin Cavallari" type mama!

Our Mission: To get safer products into the hands of everyone.

Decades of studies indicate that serious health issues (including but not limited to asthma, cancer, and infertility) are on the rise and are due in some part to our ongoing exposure to toxic chemicals—whether it's in the shower, on our commute, while we eat lunch at a local restaurant, or when we clean our kitchens at home.
There are more than 80,000 chemicals on the market today. Many don't have any safety data. This is particularly true of those used in the skin care and beauty industry.
What's worse is that the Food and Drug Administration (the agency that regulates cosmetics in the United States) does not have the authority to r
