Goals for 2018 + Bump Update








Happy 2018! 
We have been busy the last couple of days trying to get back into our routine of work and school and they have been SO hard for me. When I'm this far along in my pregnancies everything gets to be a chore. Which brings me to my 26 week bump update! I think the "pregnancy honeymoon phase" is officially over. The first trimester is always hard because of low energy and morning sickness. The second trimester feels so much better! Tons of energy, belly isn't too large yet and I feel like I'm rocking this pregnancy thing. Until about two weeks ago I felt great. Now the belly is large and in charge, my energy levels are completely down and it I just really want to stay in pjs all day. It also doesn't help that the weather has been freezing here. We are thirteen weeks away from welcoming our sweet baby. We have a boy name pick out but still not 100% set on a girls name. And no we still haven't found out the gender. Baby is right on track, healthy and I'm so thankful for that! 

When I started thinking about things I wanted to accomplish in the new year I knew my main goal was to stop being so hard on myself especially during pregnancy. I'm going to be completely honest now. I am not one of those pregnant girls who get this cute little bump and are back to normal not long after the birth. I gain weight everywhere. No matter what I do doing pregnancy it's just the way my body handles pregnancy and carries a baby. No matter my activity, diet or age. I've pretty much done it all. My first one I was 21 years old, not very active and literally ate everything! My second at almost 24, I was running three plus miles five days a week and eating pretty clean but I would also give in more to my cravings and was chasing after a two year old! Finally this one. My final pregnancy I'll give birth and turn 27 a few months later (which use to seem so grown and now I'm realizing I'm still such a baby lol) between working with preschoolers and having two littles of my own I feel like I never sit down. I try to eat healthy but seriously. Today I came home from work and ate about six Oreos. With the new year and a new baby I gave some thought about what I wanted to set for personal goals in this year and honestly I just want to not be so hard on myself. It can be difficult as a wife and a mom to give yourself some grace. I always want things to be in order and I have already been struggling with the thought of body changes and weight gain during pregnancy. I know it can be hard for anyone! You go from being able to turn flips (not literally) to not even being able to tie your own shoes! I remember telling my husband the other day "Imagine if your body gained fifteen extra pounds in twenty five short weeks." 

So no resolutions here! Just goals. Goals to give myself  some grace, be the best wife and mom I can be and prepare to become a family of SIX.
