My Casual Holiday Outfits: 2018

NORDSTROM: Reversible Ruana (Available in three other colors) | PANTS: High Wasted |
 TOP: Bombe Wrap Top

Happy Holidays Friends!
I hope you all had a great Christmas. I tried my best to unplug and be in the moment with my  family.  We had a fabulous time and AP loved her first Christmas. Barrett is home from work during the entire Christmas break so we have tons of time to just spend with each other and the kids. They don't go back to school until next week so we are trying to get in as much down time as possible!

The past couple of months I've had some behind the scenes blog/social media content I had to get done- If you have noticed a little pause in the blog post that is why. Starting now I'll have new blog post every Monday, Wednesday and Friday ready to go and a few random weekend post like this one. I feel like I've spent the past four days in pajamas. Last weekend we visited family out of town- So Friday through Wednesday I wore real clothes, fixed my hair and put on makeup. These four days in pajamas were a must for me!

We are leaving tomorrow morning to bring in the New Year in Nashville! Before we switched gears to New Years I wanted to do a quick round up of my outfits I wore during the last week. I was aiming towards casual and comfy- these were perfect!

I'm about to start packing for our Nashville trip shortly- Monday's blog post will be all about what I pack when I'm trying to "pack light" (is that even possible for women?) when I also have things to go do that requires more than yoga pants! OH and Wednesday's post is..... The Kitchen Update! I had plans for that to go up last week but we decided to redo the cabinets as well.

Simple Pieces for Your Not so Simple Babe

As we are getting  close to the end of the year I have been doing a lot of soul searching. I shared on Instagram on of my favorite podcast to listen to at the moment. Allie Casazza has such great tips on her blog and podcast where she talks about simplifying your life. She talks about how to stop cleaning up after you children's childhood and start being preset. That probably makes any mama take a deep breath and realize that a lot of time can be spent tiding homes, washing laundry and doing the dishes.

I joke with my husband all of the time about becoming "minimalist". I'm only half joking though. I started our decluttering process a few weeks ago. It has been so freeing to get rid of the things we don't need or even use.

When I started this process I realized I didn't need for my children to have fifty thousand pieces of clothing. WHY does it feel like they have so many? Maybe it's because I have three children. I just realized they don't need it all. They need pieces they will wear often. We all know how fast our babies grow (even though I hate to admit it!)

So I encourage you to start small. I went through their clothes, hung the pieces we are keeping, made a donate box and a resale box. Let's be honest mama's- having a resale option for your babies clothing is huge. I use the app Kidizen. It's such an easy way to snap pics, post them and sell your gently loved pieces to other mama's. If you register be sure to use my referral code! zyc0n

I list our items so that I can replace with other things we need. With AP being eight months old she doesn't have an abundance of clothing. Which is great because she doesn't need them! Recently I found some pieces that screamed her "style" and I snagged them right up.

Georgia Pocket Dress: Find it HERE.

Olive Top: Find it HERE.

Charcoal Overall Dress: Find it HERE.

Mustard Baby Doll Top: Find it HERE.

I love the simplicity of them. I just find it important to make the simple things "enough" these days. Not always trying to keep up with the latest and greatest can take a serious weight off of your shoulders.

Weekend Getaway- Dauphin Island, AL

Monday. After a full day of traveling with babies yesterday I'm actually really enjoying this quite  Monday morning at home. AP is napping, I've got coffee in hand and a fire going. Every year after football season Barrett and I try to plan a long weekend getaway alone. Last year we didn't get to go because I was pregnant and felt like doing a whole lot of nothing but lying in bed. This year it just worked out where we got to take a long weekend to the beach kiddos included. We had a grand time.

Every summer we plan a beach trip or two. Usually we go to Destin, FL or Orange Beach, AL. Destin is our favorite and Barrett has a yearly conference in Orange Beach so we make a family trip out of that. We have never been to Dauphin, Island so we weren't exactly sure what to expect. Have you ever read the book Safe Haven? I love the movie as well. That's the vibe I got. Completely small town and a low key feel. It was amazing. Our beach house was feet from the water, there were very few restaurants and the weather was perfect.  We ate at a little taco place numerous times. It was the kiddos favorite thing we did! We had the best time and can't wait to go back.

Sharing some snaps from our trip. I had all the intentions to bring my cameras for pictures and videos but realized about an hour in I forgot them- along with a few other necessities but we made it work.

All About the DoTERRA Dream Kit and Why You Need It

Friday. Oh how I love you!

When I was getting ready to put this post together I started thinking about how long it has been since our family was introduced to the world of Essential Oils. Three and a half years. We had just welcomed a sweet baby boy into the world when my sister Sara brought us a baby gift. It wasn't your average gift though. She had started her journey with DoTERRA and wanted to share with us how amazing it was. I remember opening the kit she gave to us and thinking to myself, " I have no clue what to do with all of this." The essential oil world can be scary when you first dive in! That's why it's important to have someone who knows all about them to give you all of the EO knowledge. Thank the lord for Sara! She was there to answer my every questions no matter how many times I asked. We started slowly with using Lavender at bedtime and before I knew it we were using these little bottles for multiple things throughout the day. Here we are- almost four years later.

This post is all about the DoTERRA Dream Kit

What's Inside
Green Mandarin (15ml)
Magnolia Touch (10mL)
Pink Pepper (5mL)
Turmeric (15mL)

I have to start with my favorite part of the kit. The DoTERRA Kids Collection. You know we have four kiddos in our family. Our six year old and three year old love their oils! They know that when they don't feel well, their moods aren't the best or they need some help winding down at bedtime they can reach for the oils. DoTERRA has formulated a collection of pre-diluted blends made with kids in mind. They include these handy little flashcards that help them figure out which roller bottle is best for that particular situation. It's the complete "Whole Body" toolbox. Formulated specifically for developing minds, bodies, and emotions, these essential oil blends feature unique combinations therapeutically balanced to provide powerful benefits while being gentle on delicate skin.

Next Up is one I just can't go without these days! Copaiba Softgels- When taken internally, Copaiba essential oil may help support the nervous, cardiovascular, immune, digestive, and respiratory systems. Barrett and I have both added the soft gels to our nightly routine! You can read all about the benefits of Copaiba HERE.

I don't know about you guys but I ditched my regular deodorant a few years of go and have been on the hunt for a non-toxic one since. I have tried them all and have only found couple. The new DoTERRA Balancing deodorant is a must. Made with DoTERRA's Balance Blend it is every bit of heavenly goodness.

I've been dying to add Turmeric to our Essential Oil collection. I have heard such great things about it. Did you know that when taken internally it promotes a positive immune function and response? Read more about it here.

Yarrow | Pom will be available in December to purchase if you don't have to Dream Kit. It's a little pricey but that's how I always know it's the good stuff. Just take Frankincense for example. It's one we use daily! Read more about it here.

Green Mandarin is known for supporting healthy digestive and immune systems which we could all use. A few ways you can use this oils is to incorporate it into your home. You can use this as a food preservative or dilute it in a spray bottle to clean your kitchen. You can use it in your oral hygiene routine to promote healthy-looking teeth. Read more about it here

Do you know how many toxins are lurking around in your beauty and personal care products. One of the main ones being Fragrance. Companies can hide a ton of toxins in the word "Fragrance." Use the Magnolia Touch as your daily fragrance. It can also be used to help when feeling anxious. (Which is me 90% of my life.) So I know what I'm including in my daily beauty routine now! Read more about it here.

There are a ton of uses for this next oil- Pink Pepper. You can dilute it with fractionate coconut oil to use for a massage, it may help calm and soothe the nervous system, and it may help promote healthy cellular immune function. Read more about it here

When I started with DoTERRA one thing I wasn't aware of was just how versatile these oils are. So many oils can be used for numerous things. If you find it overwhelming just know that!

Now I'm sure most of you have heard of DoTERRA's On Guard blend. It's known as the protective blend. Now you can get your daily dose of On Guard while using your mouthwash. Insane! You can read more about it here.

You can sign up to become a member for only $35.00. When you are a member you save 25% on all DoTERRA products! Do you want to learn more about DoTERRA? You can contact Sara and she will answer ALL of your questions!

Designing A Nursery In Three Simple Steps

I have never been one of those moms who prepare's the baby's nursery months in advance. Mainly because with our first baby we lived in a two bedroom apartment. We set up the crib and hung a ew things but she also shared a room with a five year year old little boy. We moved into our new house I loved setting up her nursery. At that point she was about 7-8 months old. That's totally not normal lol. Setting up a special nursery at 8 months!?

Fast forward to our second baby. We quickly outgrew that house and then three year old still had her sweet nursery. Our new baby boy shared a room with his older brother. A few months later we moved again and all three kids had their own rooms. Again I loved setting up the nursery for our sweet boy in our new house.

Now on to today!
When we found out we were expecting our latest  we weren't exactly sure what to do. We had H in the nursery and AR in her room with. If you remember on our Instagram I posted about her staying in our room in a portable crib. We got that set up before she made her arrival! Once she got here she slept in a rock in play. When she outgrew that we moved her to a bassinet right beside the bed. After that she went into the portable crib for a couple of months at the foot of our bed until we realized it was time. Every time one of us would get out of bed it would wake her up. So we decided it was time to move her to her nursery. But I knew we had to make it special! It had been brother's nursery- filled with all of the little sports pictures and boy things.

I started looking into ways we could make this space special. This being my last baby- I wanted her to have the most perfect nursery. Thats when Rock Mountain Decals came into play. Did you know that you can make a space in your home unique and personal without having to spend a lot of time and effort changing it up? Rocky Mounting Decals is a company that create removable wall paper and decals. I had a vision in my head about what I wanted in to look like. Everything pink and girly!

For AP's nursery we went with the Peony Flower Wall Stickers. You can find them HERE. They are the perfect addition to any little girls room! I also wanted to add a personal touch so I got a Name Decal. You can customize it with different fonts and colors.

Here are THREE simple ways you can design a nursery-

1. Find a theme and don't overthink it. With all of our kiddos we never had a true theme. I looked on Pinterest, got ideas and put something together. Don't overthink it!

2. Find a couple of timeless pieces- These Pottery Barn chairs are great. They add a sweet touch to the space and it's also something they can use for years to come. THESE are on sale! Get some great crib sheets, an amazing quilt and your all set.

3. Personalize it- Decals are easy touches to put on the nursery to give it a unique feel. The Rocky Mountain decals we use are removable. You can change them up from time to time. Your baby's nursery can grow as he/she grows.

Thank you to Rocky Mountain Decals for sponsoring today's post!

Cozy Fall Sweaters + Nursing Mama Must Have

You guys.. What a week it has been! I have had so many things to do outside of the house during the day and I am just plain exhausted. Today is more relaxed so AP and I are having a slow morning. I normally try to do seperate fashion post from my mom post BUT today it just worked out that I could combine them.

The weather is finally cool enough for use to wear our cozy sweaters and I love it. You will never believer where I snagged this $16 sweater- grab it HERE

I love the darker colors for fall but for some reason I always tend to get lighter color sweaters and cardigans. I sized WAY up in this one. I usually do in all of my sweaters to give them that slouchy/oversized look. So keep that in mind! I'm going to link a few other sweaters below that I'm currently loving also.

Now on to the mama stuff. Are you a pregnancy or nursing mama? Do you have any nursing mama friends? When I was nursing AP I came across this company called MILKIN' COOKIE. These are the best lactation cookies! I had the hardest time this go round with nursing. We pushed through and made it to six months. If you are looking for something to send a new mama this is perfect. Seriously how adorable is this MUG

Use code: MILKINMAMA2018 for 10% off of your order!

A huge thanks to MILKIN' COOKIE for sponsoring today's post.

Sixth Month Update

Six whole month's with our sweet baby AP. It still seems so crazy that she's here yet I don't remember what we did before her. She is definitely the star of this show! This post is going to be short and sweet- mainly because Mama is tired Y'all. I'm going to share some a few updates and some of our favorite baby items thats we can't live without.

We have our six month appointment next week but if you can tell by our pictures- AP is thriving! After our four month weight gain challenge (thankfully) haven't had anymore issues. We will find or next week her weight but I'm not at all concerned! We have tried food here and there but she doesn't have it daily. Sweet potatoes are her favorite! She's rolling around  front back to front and front to back. She absolutely loves her exersaucer, sitting up on her blanket with toys and being held my mom of course. On thing that happened this month that has officially tore me to pieces is the fact that we have completely stopped nursing. I went into this pregnancy saying we would breastfeed for a year and it just didn't happen that way. I have been an emotional wreck but here is what I need to say. DO what is best for you and your baby. I have seen an entirely different baby since we started supplementing with formula. I had no clue my baby was starving. If you have to use formula please do not feel like a bad mom.

Well now that we have officially stopped nursing I'm just waiting for the weight to fall off. With all of my babies I don't seem to lose weight until they wean. Thirty pounds- I still have a whole thirty pounds to go to get to my pre pregnancy weight. So on that note and all of the formula talk. Our bodies have gone through some major changes. I try to focus on staying acting, eating healthy and being happy for my family.

TOYS! My absolute favorite age has to be six months. The giggles are in full force and they love play time. THIS is our current favorite toy at this age. I'm sure other mama's would agree! THESE and also THIS are other's we are loving. Anything that makes noise and they can chew on will do just fine. Now that we are exploring the world of solids we decided to get something she could sit in while we are at the table but didn't want to get an actual high chair right now. We love THIS ONE for feeding her and it's also perfect for when in in the kitchen trying to get things done. It keeps her very entertained!

We are still loving all of our previous Favorites. I'll link my other blog post here so you are look back on those. Baby Safety we lovesleeping must havesDiaper bag must haves
