Happy Birthday Hayes!

Friday, May 5, 2017

My sweet sweet Hayes. He came into this world loving his mama from the get go. H nursed like a champ for nine months until he decided himself he was completely over it. He's always been a pretty great sleeper. He loves his sister and brother BIG. He is a complete mama's boy but at the same time he's all about his daddy. He's 100% the definition of a boy. He's wild, is baseball obsessed and loves to get dirty!

I thank God every day for choosing our family to be Hayes'. We love you Haysie Daisy! Thank you for being the best "bubba" for the past two years!

When Addie Rivers was two Barrett and I decided we wanted to try extending our family. We had barely even "thought" about it and bam. We were pregnant. At this time Barrett and I were running five days a week. At least three miles a day. One day a put AR down for a nap like usual and was getting ready to get on the treadmill and I felt terrible. I called Barrett and told him I thought I was getting the flu. So while AR napped I curled up on the couch and watched reality tv. About thirty minutes later I called Barrett back. "You don't think I'm pregnant do you?" his response was, "Babe its been like two seconds! no!"

I hung up and remember i had a box of pregnancy test in the bathroom. I thought to myself, "What's it gonna hurt to take one, I'm probably not pregnant." Fast forward about five minutes. I called Barrett laughing. " OMG...im pregnant!" I'll always remember the excitement I heard in his voice. I had thought before I got pregnant that this time I would tell him in a cute way but my emotions got the best of me and I just couldn't wait. Besides morning sickness for a few weeks it was such an easy pregnancy.

May 4th, 2015. We had a scheduled c-section (We ended up having to have one the first go round so our doctor thought it was best to have a repeat.) We got there about 6:30 and our section was scheduled for 9am. Both mine and Barrett's parents were at home with the kids getting them ready. Our doctor came in about 8:45. "Okay we're ready!" and yep. None of our family was there yet lol. They got there just as they took me back.

We had such a great doctor and pediatrician. While we were in Columbus Barrett was the high school principal. It just so happened that both our doctor and pediatrician had children at his school. So while I'm in the mist of surgery the three of them are chatting along about SCHOOL!
But honestly, it helped to ease my nerves.

He came into this world with the most precious cry and looking nothing like his sister did as a newborn. Two years feels like two days. Time is such a thief! Forever my tiny baby boy.
