Things I Wish I Knew Before My First Pregnancy

Pink Blush Top: here
Lipstick: here, Cardigan: here, Leggings: here

Hey Y'all! Merry Christmas! I hope you all had the best time spending time with family and loved ones. We have had such a magical time with our three babies. Now we are spending time relaxing, playing with all of our new toys and resting up before our trip to Nashville in a few days!

My First Go Round

We are officially 25 weeks with babe number four. That honestly just blows my mind. I can't believe in 14 short weeks we will be growing our sweet family again. Gearing up for baby has my mind thinking back to my first pregnancy and delivery with Addie Rivers. My twenty one year old self had no clue what I was in for. I gained forty pounds, was so swollen at nine months pregnant and not feeling like myself at all. At the beginning I had no clue things would change as much as they did. The number one thing I wish I knew more about was labor and delivery.

My Labor + Delivery

Barrett and I moved to a new town when I was about six months pregnant. As a first time mom  I panicked and had no desire to change my doctor. So I was driving three hours to my doctors visit. Which weren't so bad until I got into the third trimester when I was going once a week. Barrett's work schedule didn't allow him to go with me so that was hard, Driving three hours before 8-9 months pregnant. My due date was mid August which is right at the beginning of Barrett's football season. So I went in to my 38 week visit and my doctor agreed it would be best to go ahead and induce at 39 weeks. Being three hours away, he was nervous I would go into labor. Let me just say I LOVED my doctor. That was the main reason I was never able to switch. He delivered my sister baby and we had a great relationship with him. As a soon to be mother that is huge. It's not easy to just say "Sure i'll find a new doctor to use with only a few weeks left to go." Barrett made the drive down on Monday night and we induced that tuesday morning. After laboring all day we ended up delivering via c-section.

What I Wish I Had Known

If I could go back I would educate myself a little more on induction and c-sections. Never in a million years did I think I wouldn't be able to deliver her naturally. So third baby, Third c-section and the same thoughts go through my mind every time. I know everything happens for a reason and God has a plan. We are always just so thankful for healthy babies!

Favorite Ingrid and Isabell Sweaters/Tops

Hey y'all! I hope you all had a great weekend. We spent the weekend home with two sick babies. I'm so excited for Christmas break next week. We are all ready to have a couple of weeks home to spend time getting well. We have a few fun things planned! I'm most excited about sleeping in, wearing cozy clothes and watching tons of Christmas movies!

A few days ago I ordered a few pregnancy necessities. Tanks and leggings for the win! Winter pregnancies are my favorite. I love all of the over sized sweaters and cardigans. I went in Target a couple of weeks ago and found this particular Ingrid and Isabel sweater. It was in my pile of things to buy but I changed my mind right as I was getting ready to walk out of the dressing room. As soon as I left I knew I should have gotten it! So today I went back online and ordered it and this is one I can for sure wear after baby. I found a few other maternity sweaters and tops that I LOVED and will probably have to add them to my cart soon. I've linked them all below!

Transitional Pieces from Pregnancy to Motherhood + 22 Bump Update

22 weeks already!? I can't believe how fast this pregnancy is going by. How is it already December?
I skipped a few weeks of bump updates. We were out of town and this time of year has kept us crazy busy. Instead of going backwards I thought I would just start at 22 weeks. Honestly nothing major happened over the last few weeks. We went to our OB appointment and everything was great. We were also able to find out the gender but we are STILL going to wait until the birth!

So far things are going pretty normal and this pregnancy is still identical to my one before. I'm craving all the spicy and sour things.  My craziest craving yet has to be Apple Cider Vinegar. My husband can't even be in the same room with me when I drink it! I just put it in a mug of warm water, a little ACV, some lemon.

I am feeling this baby kick all day every day and it is so sweet. No matter how many times you have been pregnant it is just as special to feel those little kicks. Most days I still have my energy but I know once the third trimester hits that will probably end!

Now on to the clothes. I really can't stand buying true maternity clothes. I always tend to just size up in shirts and sweats. I will say that maternity jeans and tanks are a must though. You already know where this post is going! I get a TON of my clothes from Pink Blush these days. Pregnant or not.

These two pieces I'm sharing today are perfect transitional pieces. They are great for pregnancy and motherhood! I've shared this white dress before but this past weekend was SO warm that I had to pull it back out and to be honest I love the way it made the bump pop. I'm officially looking pregnant and I've even had people ask if I'm having twins. Wait what!? No just one baby. I Paired  this dress with some of my favorite Jessica Simpson shoes, and one of my go to bags. Of course the weather is back to freezing! It feels perfect for Christmas though!

This white top from Pink Blush is my far my favorite thing this pregnancy. It is SO soft and cozy, I could wear it everyday. It's perfect for wearing with tennis

shoes or yoga pants. But also for dressing up. Last week I wore it with my favorite maternity jeans, steve madden booties and coat.

Everything from this post is linked below.
Merry almost Christmas!

Second Trimester Update - Weeks 12-14

As I'm writing this I'm currently in bed feeling well not so great. So many people have been asking me "How are you feeling!?" to which I reply, "Great now that I'm in the second trimester!"
But today I've been in bed for a few hours feeling all kinds of nauseous. UGH. Pregnancy is such a crazy thing.

Before today the second trimester had been going pretty great. No nausea, just tired all day everyday.

We had our doctors appointment today and everything is going great. My doctor told me that it looks like we will be having a baby sometime around the 4th, 5th or 6th of April. That make it REALLY sink in. All this time I'm thinking I have until almost the end of April to prepare. We would be able to find out the gender at the next appointment BUT we are sticking to our guns and are determined until the birth to find out.

I didn't buy many maternity clothes my last pregnancy. I had a few which mainly consisted of Target shirts and Old Navy materinty tights. I wasn't working then so my OOTD was usually the same everyday. This pregnancy I'm Thrilled to have Pink Blush Maternity to fill my closet with the best maternity clothes! This floral chiffon maxi is going to be my go to dress for fall this year!

Also if you are expecting and looking for a little "Pick me up" surprise each trimester then you'll have to grab your Bump Box. Bump Boxes is a subscription service that provides you with some really fun goodies each trimester. I got my first trimester box a few weeks ago and LOVED it. It was filled with an adorable water bottle, a bath bomb, face wash and more.

Have a great week!

Baby Number Four! Weeks 0-11

If you saw our Instagram post last week then you have heard our fun news! Baby Donahoe #4 will be here April 2018. Im so excited because this is my first pregnancy that I'll be documenting on the blog.  With Hayes I was blogging but it was very sporadic. During my pregnancy with Hayes I blogged for Pregnancy and Newborn Magazine so most of my updates were done there and not my personal blog.  So this time around I'll be doing weekly pregnancy updates, sharing my pregnancy style, what my workouts and meals looks like (I'm determined to have a healthy pregnancy!) plus our regular blog post!

We found out we were expecting right after I starting working. I remember crying asking Barrett if i would loose my job (hahahaha because he is my boss) and he reassured me that pregnancy women work everyday. I promise I knew this, I just remember panicking because  I JUST started working and I  absolutely love my job.

People have been asking if we planned baby #4 or if it took us by surprise! The truth is we have always wanted to add one more to our bunch. We feel so blessed and thankful that God chose us to be parents again! You probably know that this is our fourth child but my third pregnancy. I gained the sweetest five year old son when Barrett and I got married!

So now for the fun part!

Morning Sickness
#1. With Addie Rivers I was never nauseous or sick. I felt completely normal the first trimester!
#2. Nausea ALL DAY EVER DAY...
#3. I had some nausea for a few weeks. It wasn't anything terrible and by now it's mostly gone (we are almost to he 2nd trimester) If I go too long in between meals it starts but usually goes away as soon as I eat.

Weight Gain
I know most people don't gain weight at all the first trimester!
#1. First trimester I didn't gain much but I ended up gaining forty pounds total. I walked at the beginning of my pregnancy but that was it. I ate wayyyy to much.
#2. I was running 3+ miles almost everyday when I got pregnant with Hayes. I continued to run up until about 7 months. I ate mostly healthy and felt great my entire pregnancy!
#3. So far I've lost a few pounds. I haven't had much of an appetite and when I do I eat a few bites and feel SO full. I've been exercising but between work and the other two it's not as often as I would like!

These have been the same so far for all three. Spicy, sour, and not to fond of chicken.
I can't remember if this was true for the other two but this time I'm definitely wanting lots of fruit and salads!

Later this week I'll be posting my first pregnancy style post! Featuring (of course) Pink Blush Maternity.

Have a great Monday!

Back to School Must Haves

We have been in school for weeks now but it's never to late to share our back to school favorites! Hayes still isn't in school so this post is dedicated all to Addie Rivers. I asked her what her favorites were and she made sure to let me know (I've also linked a few items below that mama loves) You might get a little laugh out of this post.

#1. Ice Cream Scissors!- I've searched all over the web and can't seem to find those ridiculous ice cream scissors she just HAD to have. Here are a few other prints that I think are just as adorable.

#2. Jellabee Dress- This pink and white stripped dress from Jellaba is a must if you have a little girl. Addie Rivers says it's the "comfiest dress EVER" It's currently on sale!
Shop it here. (this is the dress featured in the photos)

#3. Play Doh- Hello can you ever go to kindergarten without Play Doh!?
 Get it here

#4. Cozy Jacket's- "Because mom K5 is always FREEZING. Our room is like the North pole!"
find her favorite here

#5. "Your Best Snuggle Buddy"- Nap times away from home aren't the easiest. Finding your "Best snuggle buddy" can make it so much better! ( I checked out AR's cubby at school last week. I'm pretty sure she has a least ten snuggle buddies in there)

And last one of our favorites is Live Loo's Hair Bows. Jennifer is always coming out with the cutest prints and styles! Our go to is the Ryan Bow! (Also featured in the photos)

We hope you enjoyed this post and giggled a little. Five year old girls are the best!

Big Changes: Transitioning from SAHM to Working Mom!

TOP: Pink Blush

FINALLY! My blog post are sporadic these days. I feel like my last few post have been simply updating you guys on new things happening in our lives and let's not even talk about my absence on social media. If you are wondering what's been going on I'm here to fill you in! Before I get started I wanted to talk about both go these adorable Pink Blush tops in this post. I got them because I feel like they are the perfect transition tops for for fall! If you live somewhere down south like I do then you know that fall is usually none existent. It seems to always be hot.

So what's been going on- if you didn't know, I've been a stay at home mom for the past six years. Our entire marriage I've stayed home. It's been such a joy to be able to stay home with my babies while they have been little. Recently an opportunity came up for our family and it just felt perfect.

Most of you know we moved to our current town about 18 months ago for Barrett's job. If you also didn't know ( which I'm sure you do by now because I say it often!) He is the headmaster of a school in the town we are in. The opportunity came up for a someone else to help with their 3K-4K class. As much as I  have loved staying home this seemed like the next step in our journey. You guys- My entire family (Minus our biggest boy) is in the same building during the day. Addie Rivers classroom is right next door to mine, Hayes' room is down the hall and Barrett's office is also down the hall. I get to be at the same place as my family everyday. I get to go home with both babies around 3pm. I get to have the same holidays as them!

I feel so incredibly blessed that this opportunity has opened up for us. I couldn't ask for anything better. I get to spend my days loving on some of the sweetest 3 and 4 year olds I know plus being in the same building as my family. God is so good! Prayers for a smooth transition are greatly appreciated!

Be Inspired: Inspiration For the Stay at Home/Working Mom

This post was sponsored by thredUP. As always all thoughts and opinions are my own.

What Inspires you? Well for me I can say it's my supportive husband and tiny loves that inspire me on a daily basis but you probably already know this! I'm sure you all have things that inspire you.
For me other the the obvious husband and babies, it's really simple. As a blogger I find that having an awesome workspace inspires my writing.

For the longest time I didn't have a office or even a desk for that matter! I would grab my computer and sit any where. It was hard to get my creative juices flowing when I could hear Peppa Pig in the background. So a few months ago I made it happen. Now I don't have an actual office- my workspace is in our dining room, which I might had that we hardly ever use. I knew that in order for me to create the things I wanted, I needed a space that was just mine.

Every few weeks I like to switch it up. As a mom that works from home I feel like it's so important to have a place that is yours. I switch out the magazines that I have on my desk, the pens ( does this seem so ridiculous?) and wardrobe that sits beside my desk. Now you might think that last one is silly but I LOVE IT. I change out the clothes and accessories and it honestly makes me feel awesome. I go through my closet, find things that i'm loving and switch out the wardrobe! This is the exact reason I love thredUP. Before I was a wife and a mother I had no issues buying things I wanted. Cute new pair or shoes? Done. Things changed drastically when I started having babies. I would see something and fall it love with it. I would quickly have to remind myself, "You probably don't need that exact same dress you already have in three different colors."

With thredUP I don't have to think about that. I can use some of my free time shopping online at thredUP and not have to tell myself I don't need it. With the amazing name brand things they have at such amazing prices I am always able to find a few things I love.

So remember, you might be like me and not need five full price dresses in different colors. BUT you can find five different dresses at thredUP for about the price of one of your other dresses. Check out that adorable Nicole Miller bag! Yep, Curtesy of thredUP.  Adorable right?

Be inspired. By whatever it is you love. My third being amazing clothes and accessories lol. (sorry not sorry)

LIFE LATELY: July 2017

Happy Monday Friends!

We have been a little MIA this past week on the blog and on social media so I just wanted to give you  a little update about what's going on in our world, why I've been absent and a few upcoming things.
If you didn't know this already, my husband, Barrett is a headmaster of a school. So more or less he pretty much runs a school which means he is BUSY. Before becoming a headmaster he was a football coach and taught history classes. Then he stepped into the role of high school principal and football coach. Now he's a headmaster AND a football coach.

Barrett and I have always been supportive about each others dreams. We are both getting to do exactly what we want everyday. Before moving here he was busy but not nearly the way it is now.

Football season is here and that means we will hardly EVERRRR see him. Ok, I'm kidding but it's crazy. I feel like a broken record saying it but we live in a city where we have no family. This past year has been the busiest year yet with his career and we are coming up on year two.

Long story short we took some much needed family time this past week. I had a few scheduled blog post to get put up but after that I decided to take a week off. A little time off of social media and some time away from the blog just to spend time with family before the roller coaster of football season started. So this past Wednesday we packed up and headed to the beach for a vacation with some of my family! I didn't post much on social media and didn't really look at it either.

We had a long seven hour drive to Destin. During that time Barrett and I spent a lot of time talking about what we can do to cut out distractions during this busy season. One of my guilty pleasures is social media, hello I'm a blogger- I can't go without! But not being on social media as much. During the night I'm so terrible ( like the rest of the world) of scrolling through instagram and Facebook. Or once Barrett falls asleep I'll catch up on twenty five episodes of House Hunters. Sometimes thats the ONLY alone time I have to watch TV. Family is so very important to us and even though these few months are about to be hectic we are determined to cut out distractions so the time we do have together we can focus on just being present in the moment. That means putting the phones away (for the post part) when Barrett gets home at night. I've also been waking up earlier than the kids every morning and it is a game changer! Drinking my coffee in peace at 6:30 am is so relaxing (and sometimes the only alone time this mama has)

So that's where we have been! A little time unplugged from the internet world, soaking in so much family time and making sweet memories. It's so refreshing and I think everyone should try it. Even if you aren't a blogger and your job doesn't require you to be online a lot of the time just try it! Try starting your day spending time with your hubby, babies or whoever before you reach for your phone to browse. I am saying this to myself too!

Now for what's to come. We have a lot of fun post coming up for the rest of the summer. Lot's of family post, motherhood post and fashion post. AND........ I'm firing up the youtube channel again. Last year I posted a few videos here and there but decided to delete them. They were all over the place and to be honest I was so not confident in front of the camera, even when it was just myself and the camera. I've put a lot of thought into it and realized I love sharing little snips from our days. Plus I am SO inspired by other moms on youtube.

So that's where I've been. Enjoying my precious family because they will always be my number one. As always thanks for following along on this journey with me! Let me know what types of post and videos you want to see!

Summer Cleaning Ft. bObi Classic by bObsweep

Thank you to bObsweep for sponsoring this post. As always all thoughts and opinions are 100% my own. Stop by the disclosures page for more info.

Good Monday Morning!

If you read my post from Friday or saw on Instagram then you know I am recovering from surgery. Thursday morning I had my wisdom teeth removed and I won't lie, it is a little worse than I thought it would be. I thought for sure my Sunday morning I'd be back to normal. I'm ALMOST there. I'm still living off of soup and ice cream but I'm not complaining about that!

Barrett has been such a trooper taking care of me all weekend. I couldn't have managed a clean house, taking care of babies and well everything else that my "mom duties" include. Which brings me to my Summer cleaning routine.

Our bObi Classis by bObsweep arrived on our doorstep at the perfect time. During the school year when Addie Rivers is at school and Barrett is at work I have a pretty good cleaning routine. When summer time comes goes right out of the window! I felt like I was starting to go crazy trying to find a summer time cleaning routine that didn't take up ALL of my time. I want the kiddos to enjoy summer as much as possible which means I want to be as present as I can during these weeks. I'm very thankful that I have the opportunity to be a stay at home mom while they are this age. I'm determined to soak in every second of it.

So yes, bObi saved our summer! We spending our days playing outside, at the pool, watching movies and guess what I am not doing. Not worrying about sweeping the floors! Let's face it, I live with a four year old and a two year old. No matter how many times I clean the floor, after the next meal it looks like "crumb city." It looks as though I haven't picked up a broom in weeks! I know every mom can relate. It's just one of the joys that comes along with little babes in the house.

Thank you bObi for saving this mama's sanity! And here's to never grabbing that broom AGAIN.

Look below to see how I've added bObi into our cleaning routine and just how much easier it has become since she's been around.

Summer Style on Repeat

Happy Friday!

I really wish that I was fixing myself a cocktail right this moment, but unfortunately I've been in bed for the last 24 hours recovering from surgery. Thursday morning I had to get my wisdom teeth removed. Other than my cheeks being extremely swollen and feeling uncomfortable I'm not feeling so bad. Barrett is being such a gem taking care of me! He has waited on me hand and foot. I've got to catch up on all of my reality TV but started feeling a little restless. So I decided to grab my computer and share a roundup of some of my favorite summer pieces so far!

First we will start with my all time favorite online boutique. I've shared about them a lot because everything I get from them I just adore it! Pink Blush is my go to. My most recent find is this White off the shoulder Midi Dress. Now that I'm a mom I tend to gravitate more towards "off the shoulder but longer" dresses. I feel like it gives me just the right amount of classy and cute.

This is another Pink Blush fave. This off the shoulder maxi is perfect this summer. You can throw on a pair of heels and dress it up or wear it down to the beach. It's a staple in my summer wardrobe!

I've shared this Pink Blush dress in a seperate blog post but wanted to put it in here as well. It's super comfy and perfect for a lazy day or a day of chasing the kiddos around the park.

This next dress white dress I got several years ago. I tend to wear  it on repeat every summer since it's purchase! I've linked several similar ones below that are very affordable.
